Prayer #1

Father, anoint us with your Holy Spirit, so that as we read your eternal word, your word may penetrate our whole being and transform us. Grant us the blessing to be a faithful disciples in believing the Word of God and that we may be a light shining upon all who are in darkness. Amen

Prayer #2

Heavenly Father, we come to you today asking for your guidance, wisdom, and support as we begin this meeting. Help us to engage in meaningful discussion; allow us to grow closer as a group and nurture the bonds of this St Simon's faith community. Fill us with your grace, Lord God, as we make try to understand your mysteries. And continue to remind us that all that we do here today, all that we accomplish, is for the pursuit of truth for the greater glory of You, and for the service of humanity. We ask these things in your name, Amen.

Prayer #3

We stand before you, Holy Spirit, conscious of our sinfulness, but aware that we gather in your name.
Come to us, remain with us, and enlighten our hearts.
Give us light and strength to know your will, to make it our own, and to live it in our lives.
Guide us by your wisdom, support us by your power, for you are God, sharing the glory of Father and Son.
You who live and reign with the Father and the Son, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer #4

Leader: Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful. 
Response: And kindle in us the fire of your love.
Leader: Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. 
Response: And you will renew the face of the earth.
Leader: Let us pray. Lord, may everything we do begin with your inspiration and continue with your help, so that all our prayers and works may begin in you and by you be happily ended. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
All: Lord, by the light of the Holy Spirit you have taught the hearts of your faithful. In the same Spirit help us to relish what is right and always rejoice in your consolation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer #5

Ever-living God, you gather us together as the parish of St. Simon to read and understand the Word of Our Lord. Bless the members of faith group. Let your Spirit enlighten our minds and guide all our actions That we may be renewed in faith, united in love, and bring to fulfilment the work of Your Church, to Your greater honour and glory. Amen.

Prayer #6

Opening prayer:
Lord our God, we bless you.
As we come together to ponder the Scriptures,
we ask you in your kindness to fill us with the knowledge of your will
so that, pleasing you in all things, we may grow in every good work.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

Closing prayer:
May God, the source of all patience and encouragement,
enable us to live in perfect harmony with one another
in the spirit of Christ Jesus.
With one heart and one voice may we glorify God, now and forever. Amen

Prayer #7

Everlasting Father, we give thanks to you today, we bless your name together. You alone are good and your steadfast love endures forever. Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation. As we gather together today fill our minds and our mouths with praise to you. Guard our thoughts and our hearts that we may glorify you in every aspect of our lives. You are the name above all other names, the king above all other kings. Blessing and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving, honor, and power and strength, be unto you our God forever and ever. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Prayer #8

Opening prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us together today to study your Word. Help us to find the true meaning of your mysteries. May your peace be in our hearts, your grace be in our thoughts, your love be in our words and your joy be in our souls. May your Spirit guide us, your words bring us your peace, your shield protect us, your wisdom arm us, wherever you may lead us. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Closing prayer: Faithful Father, we thank you for hearing our prayers, feeding us with your word, and encouraging us as we have gathered together. Take our lives and use us to love and serve you, and all people, in the power of your Spirit and in the name of your Son. We are created by your power, redeemed by your love and strengthened by your Spirit. We give ourselves into your service, may we love you and love others with all our hearts.  Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Prayer #9

Heavenly Father, we praise you for your goodness and generosity. We trust you for faithfully preserving us through good times and bad. We serve you with all that we have. We glorify you in our plans and activities. We speak of you to others in response to your great love for us. We live for you, in every thought, word and deed, by the power of your Spirit. You are the God of endurance and encouragement. Help us to live in harmony with each other, that together we may with one voice glorify Jesus Christ.  Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Prayer #10

The Angelus
Leader: The Angel of the LORD declared unto Mary,
Response: And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary...

Leader: Behold the handmaid of the LORD.
Response: Be it done unto me according to thy word.
Hail Mary...

Leader: And the Word was made flesh.
Response: And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary...

Leader: Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
Response: That we might be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

All: Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O LORD, Thy grace into our hearts; that, we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen
